Central Florida is home to a thriving Hindu community, with temples that serve not only as places of worship but also as centers for culture, education, and community service. These temples welcome devotees and visitors from all backgrounds.
HSCF
The Hindu Society of Central Florida (HSCF) is the largest and most recognized Hindu temple in the Orlando metropolitan area. Located in Casselberry, the temple was established in 1987, with its magnificent South Indian-style temple complex (Maha Kshetra) opening in 2005. Built according to Vedic architecture and Vastu Shastra, the temple has become a spiritual and cultural landmark for the Indian community in Central Florida.
The temple features shrines dedicated to Lord Venkateswara (Balaji), Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, Radha Krishna, Lord Rama, Lord Ayyappa, Navagrahas, Saraswati, Kali, Lakshmi, and other deities. The temple offers youth programs, language classes, cultural events, weddings, and a popular vegetarian cafeteria on weekends.
Shri Shiva Dham – Orlando
Located in East Orlando, Shri Shiva Dham serves the growing Hindu population in Orange County. While dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, the temple welcomes devotees of all Hindu traditions and conducts daily worship, Rudrabhishekam, homams, Satyanarayana pujas, weddings, and other religious ceremonies.
The temple regularly celebrates Mahashivaratri, Navaratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, and other important Hindu festivals while providing spiritual guidance and priest services for families throughout Central Florida.
Maa Durga Sri Sai Baba Temple – South Orlando (Apopka Vineland Road)
The Maa Durga Sri Sai Baba Temple is located on South Apopka Vineland Road near the Disney and Lake Buena Vista area. The temple is unique in that it brings together worship of Maa Durga, Shirdi Sai Baba, and numerous Hindu deities under one roof, making it a welcoming place for families from diverse traditions. The temple also features shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Lord Balaji, Radha-Krishna, Lord Rama, Navagrahas, Vaishno Devi, Shani Dev, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Mahavir Swami, and several other revered deities.
Daily aartis, weekly bhajans, Sai Baba Abhishekams, Shiva Abhishekams, Hanuman Chalisa, and special festival celebrations are held throughout the year.
Shirdi Sai Florida Center – Inverness
About 90 minutes northwest of Orlando, the Shirdi Sai Florida Center in Inverness is one of the oldest and most respected Shirdi Sai Baba temples in Florida. Established in 1997, the temple began in a small rented facility before moving to its current campus in 2005.
The temple conducts four daily aartis, weekly Abhishekams, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Shiva Pooja, Satyanarayana Pooja, and numerous special sevas throughout the year. Thursday, considered especially sacred to Sai Baba devotees, draws large numbers of visitors for bhajans, prayers, and prasadam.
